Police close in on Muleya’s killers as they find IBA accountant hiding under a bed in Mansa

THE Zambia Police Service have made remarkable strides in bringing to book the killers of Independent Broadcasting Authority director general Guntila Muleya with the arrest of one no more person.

A day after announcing the arrest of four people including three police officers, authorities have confirmed the arrest of IBA accountant Francis Chipyoka.

According to police sources, Chipyoka fled Lusaka around 17:00 yesterday and sped to Luapula where he was found hiding under the bed of a hotel room this this morning.

As you read this, Chipyoka is currently on CDF police land cruiser being brought to Lusaka for interrogation.

He is the fifth suspect to be arrested by the police together with three police officers cosntable Alex Zulu a member of the scorpion squad who is said to be the young brother of Lawyer Makebi Zulu, constable Dokowe Mututsani, police reserve Willam Shawa and civilian Samuel Dokowe.

Chipyoka is alleged to be have been the one who handed the people said to have carried out the murder a payment of K650,000 to cover up their tracks for their alleged corrupt dealings, as he posed as an obstacle.

The three law enforcement officers were apprehended on Saturday by the police who recovered Muleya’s vehicle from the suspects.

Two motor vehicles, money totaling to K129, 300, gadgets and flash disks were also recovered from the suspects

The quartet was also disarmed of three firearms among them two pistols and an AK-47 rifle, including a collection of knives.

Police public relations officer Rae Hamoonga who confirmed Chipyoka’s arrest said the bean counter is currently in police custody.

Muleya was entombed yesterday at Lusaka’s memorial park.
